Sophomore Sarah Hagen of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team has been named the Soccer America National Player of the Week for Nov. 9, the publication announced today.

Hagen was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week and a Primetime Performer by CollegeSoccer360.com. The Appleton native made Soccer America's NTOW for the fourth time this season, including her national POW award Oct. 20, while the TDS award is her third and the CS360 honor her second.

Hagen scored five goals in two games at the 2009 Horizon League Championship this weekend to lead the Panthers to their second-straight tourney crown and sixth overall. She picked up one goal in a 2-0 win over Loyola in the semifinals Friday. Then, Sunday, she tied a school record with all four goals in a 4-0 Milwaukee win over Valparaiso in the championship game. Afterwards, she was named the Tournament MVP for the second-straight season.

She currently leads the nation with 24 goals and a 1.200 goal-per-game average. She is also third in the nation in both points (53) and points per game (2.65). Her 24 goals this season tied the school and league record she set as a freshman in 2008 and her 53 points are one back of her own school record and two shy of the league standard.

In just her second year, Hagen has already earned national weekly honors 12 times from various publications and websites, while taking home a league-record eight Horizon League Player of the Week awards, including five-straight times (Sept. 21-Oct. 19) this season.

Milwaukee heads to Madison, Wis., this weekend for the first and second rounds of the 2009 NCAA Tournament. The Panthers are making their seventh tourney appearance and will take on a third seed in No. 13 UCF Friday at 5 p.m. The winner of the match advances to the second round Sunday to play the winner of host Wisconsin and Arizona State.
