Men's Soccer Falls Short Against Western Michigan -- Box Score

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men’s soccer team was unable to overcome a 2-0 deficit against Western Michigan on Friday afternoon, eventually falling 2-1 at Santaga Stadium. The loss drops Green Bay’s record to 3-3-1 on the year.

After a first half dominated by the visiting Broncos (4-2-1), the Phoenix was finally able to find the back of the net late in the second half with a goal by Fayçal Oulahbib (Chelles, France) in the 80th minute. NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's soccer dropped a 4-0 decision to Houston Baptist Friday evening in the Hyatt Place Select Lipscomb Invitational.

Seeking positive momentum from Sunday's victory over Gardner-Webb, the Bruins were dealt a severe blow early.

Detroit Men's Soccer Falls at Buffalo, 3-2 -- Box Score

DETROIT (9/19/2014) -- Tommy Bowman scored his first collegiate goal just before the halftime buzzer and Matt Ybarra added his first goal of the season Friday, but the University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team dropped a 3-2 match at the University at Buffalo.

Detroit came out firing against the Bulls on their home field, recording three corner kicks in the first 10 minutes of the game. On the third corner kick, freshman forward Spiro Pliakos (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester) found Ybarra (Irvine, Calif. / Ann Arbor Huron) for the goal. Ybarra's goal in the 10th minute was his first of the season and gave the Titans a 1-0 lead. Read more

James' Overtime Goal Lifts Crusaders over Leathernecks -- Box Score

The Valparaiso men’s soccer team gave the fans all they could ask for and more as they won before a packed house in their home opener with a thrilling double-overtime victory over Western Illinois.

Freshman Jordan James (Hellshire, Jamaica/Wolmer’s Boys School) provided the offense as the spark off the bench, scoring both goals for the Crusaders. In the 104th minute he capitalized on a bad clear from Leathernecks goalkeeper Yves Dietrich, as he danced around Dietrich and sent home the game-winner. Read more

Cain Gives Men's Soccer 1-0 Victory Over Duquesne -- Box Score 

After a scoreless two halves of regulation, Wes Cain provided the game-winner as his goal with 3:33 remaining in the first overtime lifted the Wright State men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Duquesne Friday night at Alumni Field.

Both teams had opportunites throughout regulation, with the Raiders attempting 15 shots, including six on goal, while the Dukes had 13 shots overall, six as well on goal. Read more
