Valparaiso's Bartholomew to Compete at NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

Senior Steve Bartholomew will be one of 17 competitors selected to compete in the weight throw at the 2008 NCAA Indoor Championships on March 14-15 at Fayetteville, Ark.

Bartholomew qualified for the national meet with his school andHorizon League-record mark of 67' 9 3/4" at the League ChampionshipsMarch 1, the 15th-best mark among the 17 entrants.

The Crusader enters the national competition having won the event in each of his last five meets, including last Thursday at the Nebraska Last Chance Meet.

Bartholomew was named Outstanding Field Performer at the League championships.
