Valparaiso's Gaspar, Wright State's Peresetsky Take Home Horizon League Tennis Athlete of the Week Honors

INDIANAPOLIS – Valparaiso senior Jose Gaspar (Sao Paolo, Brazil) has earned his second consecutive Horizon League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, while Wright State junior Masha Peresetsky (Westerville, Ohio) has received Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades.

Playing at No. 1 singles for the Crusaders, Gaspar went 4-0 in action for the week winning singles and doubles matches against Robert Morris and South Dakota State. Playing No. 1 singles, he posted a 6-1, 6-1 win against Robert Morris and a 6-2, 6-1 win over South Dakota State.

In doubles action, Gapsar teamed with Chris Baum  at No. 1 doubles for an 8-1 win over Robert Morris and an 8-6 win over South Dakota State.

Peresetsky helped lead the Raiders in a win over IUPUI on Friday (Mar. 11). Playing at No. 2 singles, she won the match 6-0, 6-0.  In No. 1 doubles, the junior teamed with Kenisha Webb in an 8-1 win over the Jaguars.

Wright State is back in action today at noon when they go up against Houston and will travel to Detroit on Friday (Mar. 18) for a league match with the Titans. Valparaiso hosts Green Bay on Saturday (Mar. 19) at 3pm (EST).
