Valpo's Foreman and Hanson Named Baseball Players of the Week

Foreman earned the win in that second game after firing eight scoreless frames. He struck out six Golden Grizzlies opposite three walks in the 17-2 victory. Oakland managed just four singles off the redshirt junior. Foreman set season highs in innings pitched and strikeouts while lowering his earned-run average to 3.72.

Hometown: Yorkville, Ill.

Hanson was named Batter of the Week thanks in large part to a career day Sunday. In the second game of a twinbill against Oakland, the catcher socked two doubles and a homer while piling up eight RBIs. For the week, Hanson was 7-for-10 with five runs scored and nine runs batted in. He boasted a 1.300 slugging percentage in three games to raise his season OPS to 1.030.
