INDIANAPOLIS -- UIC’s Zach Van Swol and Milwaukee’s Becky Yokosh are the Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Swimmer of the Week for Oct. 24-30.
Van Swol, a senior from Frankfort, Ill., won all three events he competed in the Flames dual-meet at Eastern Illinois last week. Van Swol won the 100-backstroke (54.67) and followed up that performance by setting a pool record at the Padovan Pool while winning the 500-freestyle in 4:41.14. He was also part of the first place 200-medley relay team.
Yokosh, a sophomore from Oconomowoc, Wis., took home women’s top honors after finishing first in all six events she entered last weekend, while setting two pool records at the WSU Natatorium. Yokosh won the 100-backstroke in a pool record time of 58.00 and was part of the 200-medley relay that set a pool record in 1:47.21. Yokosh also took home top honors in the 200-backstroke (2:06.51) at Wright State. At Ball State, Yokosh won the 100-backstroke (58.29) and was part of the victorious 400-freestyle relay (3:33.79) and the 200-medley relay (1:47.19).
Milwaukee and UIC face each other on Nov. 5 at UIC’s Flames Natatorium.
