NCAA Tournament Notes

Iowa State (20-10, 12-8 Big 12) vs. UW-Milwaukee (24-5, 13-1 Horizon League)

UW-Milwaukee Notes

- UW-Milwaukee swept the Horizon League honors this season, winning their fourth-straight regular season title and sixth Horizon League Championship.

- The Panthers have won a school-record 15-straight matches, and have not lost a match since Oct. 6.

- UW-Milwaukee went 2-3 against other teams participating in this year's NCAA tournament, posting wins over Alabama (3-0 on Sept. 2) and Oral Roberts (3-0 on Oct. 18) and losses to Wisconsin (0-3 on Sept. 9)), Louisville (0-3 on Sept. 15) and Winthrop (2-3 on Aug. 25).

- UWM is ranked in the top-20 nationally in kills per game (16.8), assists per game (15.28) and winning percentage (.828).

- Senior Cheryl Hegemann was named the Horizon League Player of the Year, joining teammates Melissa David, Leanne Felsing and Sarah Moore on the All-League team.

- Felsing was named the CVU.com National Player of the Week after posting strong performances against Oral Roberts and League opponents Cleveland State and Youngstown State in the week of October 16.

- Moore was named the Horizon League Tournament MVP after leading UWM to the championship title.  David and Monica Ferguson were also named to the All-tournament team.

- Moore currently boasts a .333 hitting percentage, which is good for second-best in the League, while David (.265) and Hegemann (.261) are also positioned in the top ten.  Hegemann also averaged 3.66 kills and 1.11 blocks per game, with both marks included in the top ten for the League.  Sophomore Becky Peters led the Panthers defensively, averaging 4.62 digs per game.

- The Panthers have lost just five League matches in the past four seasons.

- UW-Milwaukee is yet to face a Big 12 opponent this season.
