BUTLER BULLDOGS (11-2, 1-0)

  • Butler saw its nine-match winning streak come to an end with a 3-2 setback to IUPUI on Wednesday. The Bulldogs had not previously won nine in a row since 1997.
  • Butler improved to 11-2 on the season and 1-0 in Horizon League action with a sweep of Valparaiso on Friday night.
  • Sophomore Melody Austin led the Bulldogs with a career-high eight block assists in the victory over the Crusaders.

    CLEVELAND STATE VIKINGS (2-9, 1-1)
  • Cleveland State snapped a seven-match losing streak with Saturday afternoon's sweep of UIC. It was CSU's longest losing streak since dropping 11 straight in 1995.
  • Cleveland State hit .667 (13-1-18) in Saturday's first set, while holding UIC to a .000 (8-8-25) attack percentage.
  • Junior Alexis Korovich tallied 11 kills and 15 digs on Friday night vs. Loyola, becoming the first CSU player to record a double-double this season.

    GREEN BAY PHOENIX (4-7, 0-1)
  • Of Green Bay's 11 matches this season, only three have been 3-0 decisions. Each of the past six Phoenix matches have gone at least four sets.
  • On Friday, Green Bay will look to win its Horizon League home opener for the third time in the past four years.

    LOYOLA RAMBLERS (10-3, 1-1)
  • Friday night's win at Cleveland State was Loyola's first since 2004 and snapped a skid of three straight sweeps at the hands of the Vikings in Cleveland.
  • Senior Sarah Singer slammed a team-best 27 kills (3.38 kps) in the two matches.Seven of Loyola's first eight Horizon League matches are on the road this season.

    MILWAUKEE PANTHERS (8-4, 1-0)
  • Milwaukee has won 14 of its last 15 Horizon League road matches. The Panthers have also won 18 of their last 22 matches away from the Klotsche Center.
  • Milwaukee has won 29 consecutive Horizon League regular-season home matches. The streak will be on the line this weekend when the Panthers host Butler on Friday and Valparaiso on Saturday. The Crusaders ended UWM's 21-match overall home winning streak in the league tournament last season.

    UIC FLAMES (4-7, 1-1)
  • Junior Katerina Hanackova picked up her third double-double of the campaign with 17 kills and 19 digs against Youngstown State on Friday night. Senior Katarin Nedeljkovic and sophomore Casie Sullivan also registered double-doubles in the 3-1 win over the Penguins.

    VALPARAISO CRUSADERS (7-3, 0-1)
  • Valparaiso ranks third in the nation with 14.77 kills per set and sixth in the country with 13.41 assists per set.
  • Junior Angie Porche places fifth in the nation with 4.72 kills per set. She has reached double-figure kills in all 10 of her team's matches this season.
  • Senior Brittany Malicoat is just 14 digs away from Valpo's all-time career record. She has reached double-figure digs in all 10 of her squad's matches in 2008.

    WRIGHT STATE RAIDERS (3-9, 1-1)
  • Both of Wright State's middle blockers had career days on Saturday afternoon vs. Green Bay. Senior Lizzy Gunn led the Raiders with 17 kills and hit .371 for the match, while sophomore Shauna Sandifer had a career-high 16 kills in hitting .355.

    YOUNGSTOWN STATE PENGUINS (8-4, 1-1)
  • On Friday night against UIC, senior Ebony Barbosa collected 11 kills and 13 digs to post her third double-double of the season and the 29th of her career.
  • Freshman Amanda Gray had only two receiving errors in 34 chances as Youngstown State's starting libero last weekend.
