INDIANAPOLIS -- Although Cleveland State and UIC both picked up wins on Saturday, Valparaiso's 2-0 road win at Detroit on Sunday was the highlight of the weekend as the Crusaders handed the Titans their first league loss of the season. On Friday, Wright State fell 2-1 in non-conference play against Ohio State.

Ohio State 2, Wright State 1
In a non-conference, in-state match up, Wright State fell 2-1 to host Ohio State in Columbus on Friday night.

The lone Raiders (3-10-1) goal came in the 40th minute when freshman Brett Elder recorded his team-leading fifth goal of the season. The goal by Elder, who is from the Columbus suburb of Worthington, tied the game at 1-1.

The Buckeyes (6-8-1) had taken a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick in the 27th minute and scored the game-winner in the 72nd minute.

Cleveland State 2, Milwaukee 1 (OT)
After playing 88 minutes to a 0-0 tie in chilly Cleveland, the Vikings and Panthers each scored in the closing minutes before CSU pulled out an overtime win.

Freshman midfielder Christian Arboleda gave Cleveland State (7-5-2, 2-1-1 HL) a brief 1-0 lead, scoring in a crowded box in the 89th mark, but
Milwaukee (7-5-2, 2-1-1 HL) tied the game with just 13 seconds remaining in regulation on a goal by sophomore Laurie Bell.

Three minutes into the overtime period, Cleveland State senior Admir Suljevic found the back of the net with a free kick to give the Raiders a big win and ending Milwaukee's five-game winning streak.

UIC 2, Green Bay 0
For the first time since 2005, the UIC Flames went into Green Bay and came away with a win over the Phoenix.

With the win, UIC moved into sole possession of first place in the Horizon League standings.

Freshman forward Jorge Alvarez provided UIC with all the offense it would need in the 35th minute, finishing to the back post for his first career collegiate goal. The Flames got an insurance goal from senior Ivan Stanisavljevic in the 71st minute, the midfielder's team-leading seventh goal of the season.

In goal, redshirt junior keeper Piotr Kikolski made two saves for UIC (7-5-2, 3-1-1 HL) to perserve his third shutout of the season. Meanwhile, senior Ryan Wehking made one save for Green Bay (2-10-3, 0-4-2 HL).

Valparaiso 2, Detroit 0
Despite playing a man down for the second half-plus, Valparaiso scored twice in the final 10 minutes on Sunday to pick up a big road win in Detroit, handing the Titans their first Horizon League loss of the season.

Two minutes before halftime, a Crusaders field player was sent off with a red card, causing Valparaiso to play the remainder of the match with 10 men.

Having dueled the Titans to a 0-0 tie through 81 minutes, the Crusaders broke through in the 82nd minute on a goal by junior Nick Suker. Just four minutes later, sophomore Eric Nieto provided Valparaiso with an insurance goal to give the match its final 2-0 tally.

Senior goalkeeper Kyle Zobeck need just two first-half saves to record his fourth shutout of the season for the Crusaders (3-6-5, 1-1-3 HL), while Detroit sophomore Nathan Steinwascher made five saves for the Titans (7-7, 3-1 HL).
