HORIZON LEAGUE TEAM NOTES

BUTLER BULLDOGS (17-10 overall, 12-4 HL)

Butler's 12 wins in League play are the most since 1997-98 and the most under head coach Beth Couture. The win total is also just two shy of matching the school record of 14, set in 1992-93.

The Bulldogs are 14-2 when holding opponents to fewer than 60 points and 13-0 when their foes score 50 or fewer.

Sophomore Brittany Bowen has averaged a squad-best 13.1 points over the last 19 games. She has paced the team in scoring seven times and boasts 15 double-figure performances during the stretch.

After scoring just 19 points in Saturday's first half against Green Bay, the Bulldogs erupted for 45 points in the second half on 59 percent shooting from the field.

Sophomore Azjah Bass went 6-of-8 from the floor and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc to finish with a season-high 14 points against the Phoenix.

CLEVELAND STATE VIKINGS (18-10 overall, 12-4 HL)

Cleveland State has won a season-best five straight games and 11 of its last 13 overall.

The Vikings extended their school-record Horizon League win total to 12 with victories over UIC and Loyola last week.

Junior Stephaine Crosley grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds on Thursday at UIC. It was the most rebounds by a Viking since Audra Cook had 17 on Jan. 13, 2000.

Cleveland State shot a season-high .582 (32-for-55) at UIC, marking the second-best performance from the field in school history. CSU also dished out a League season-best 26 assists on its 32 field goals.

Junior Kailey Klein had 14 points and 11 rebounds on Saturday at Loyola -- her third straight double-double against the Ramblers.

DETROIT TITANS (9-18 overall, 5-11 HL)

Freshman Lauren Allen led Detroit with a personal-best 17 points -- on 8-of-16 from the floor -- Saturday against Wright State.

Freshman Talicia Washington tied for a game-high seven rebounds -- in just 20 minutes -- vs. the Raiders.

GREEN BAY PHOENIX (25-3 overall, 17-0 HL)

Green Bay received 12 votes in this week's Associated Press poll, and 16 votes in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' Poll.

Green Bay leads the nation in scoring defense (51.0), ranks third in turnover margin (+6.89) and eighth in field-goal percentage (.461) and steals (12.3).

Green Bay will post its best conference season in school history if it can knock off Milwaukee on Saturday. The Phoenix owns two unbeaten League seasons, but has never gone 18-0.

On Saturday at Butler, senior Lavesa Glover became the second Green Bay player this season to notch 1,000 career points. Senior Rachel Porath hit the milestone on Dec. 20 vs. Marquette.

Head coach Matt Bollant is now 34-1 in Horizon League regular-season games. Green Bay has also won 28 straight regular-season conference home games.

LOYOLA RAMBLERS (8-18 overall, 3-13 HL)

Loyola finished the season just 1-8 in Horizon League home games. The record tied its fewest home wins during a conference season since 1999-2000.

The Ramblers used balanced scoring in both games last week as six different players averaged at least 6.5 ppg during the stretch.

MILWAUKEE PANTHERS (12-16 overall, 7-10 HL)

Milwaukee's streak of alternating wins and losses over 13 straight games came to an end last week with consecutive losses.

Senior Traci Edwards and sophomore Lindsay Laur each had double-doubles on Saturday at Valparaiso, marking the third time this year Milwaukee has had multiple double-doubles in the same game.

The Panthers fell to 9-3 on Saturdays and 11-4 when three-or-more players score in double-figures. Their loss on Thursday was their first this season when scoring 70-or-more points (9-1).

UIC FLAMES (14-13 overall, 8-8 HL)

Junior Jessie Miller has now scored at least 20 points in each of her last three games against Youngstown State. She is averaging 23.7 points per outing and shooting 59 percent from the field during the stretch.

UIC shot 90 percent from the charity stripe (36-for-40) last week.

The Flames will be looking for regular-season series sweeps of Wright State and Detroit this week. UIC knocked off the Raiders on Jan. 3 and Titans on Jan. 5 -- both at the Pavilion.

VALPARAISO CRUSADERS (15-12 overall, 9-7 HL)

Senior Launa Hochstetler became the fifth Crusader to reach 350 career assists and is now 10th all-time in games played at Valparaiso (115).

Senior Agnieszka Kulaga, who has recorded at least 10 points in seven straight games, has moved into 15th place on Valparaiso's all-time scoring list (927 points).

Valparaiso has assured itself of a .500 or better season for the 17th time in the past 19 years.

WRIGHT STATE RAIDERS (12-15 overall, 8-8 HL)

After dropping its first five games of the month, Wright State closed out February on a two-game winning streak.

The Raiders used runs of 11-1 and 17-7 to pull away from Detroit in a 63-50 win on Saturday.

Sophomore Ta-myra Davis tied a career high with 19 points vs. the Titans, while sophomore Shey Peddy scored 18.

YOUNGSTOWN STATE PENGUINS (2-25 overall, 0-16 HL)

A guard has led Youngstown State in scoring in nine of the last 12 contests. Freshman guard Camisha Alexander is averaging 9.2 points during the stretch.

Youngstown State spotted Loyola 19 points and trailed 29-5 before amassing a comeback on Thursday. The Penguins went on a 30-9 run to climb within three, but ended up losing the contest by 18.

Youngstown State posted its second-highest point total this season in a 68-64 loss at UIC on Saturday. The Penguins led by seven in the second half, but UIC scored 14 straight points over the next three minutes to take its own seven-point lead.
