HORIZON LEAGUE TEAM NOTES

#1 SEED -- GREEN BAY PHOENIX (27-3 overall, 15-3 HL)

  • Green Bay advanced to the semifinals of the 2010 Speedway Horizon League Championship with a 72-48 win over #9 Milwaukee on Wednesday.


  • Green Bay has won nine consecutive games overall and 27 straight at the Kress Events Center.


  • The Phoenix own a 47-4 (.922) all-time record against Cleveland State.


  • Green Bay has captured at least a share of 12 straight Horizon League regular-season titles. The streak ranks as the longest in the nation.


  • The Phoenix has clinched an 11th consecutive 20+ win season and also assured itself of a 33rd straight winning campaign.


  • Green Bay finished off a 34-game regular-season winning streak and 35-game regular-season conference winning streak earlier this season. Both were all-time Horizon League records.


  • The Phoenix started 16-0 this season -- the school's best start in its 36-year history.


  • UWGB became the first team in Horizon League history to go undefeated (11-0) in regular-season non-conference affairs.

    #2 SEED -- BUTLER BULLDOGS (22-8 overall, 14-4 HL)



  • Butler advanced to the semifinals of the 2010 Speedway Horizon League Championship with a 70-57 win over #7 Wright State on Wednesday.


  • Butler has won 13 of its last 15 games overall and six straight away from Hinkle Fieldhouse.


  • The Bulldogs own a 24-31 (.436) all-time record against Detroit.


  • Butler's 22 wins mark its most since the 1997-98 campaign. That squad went 25-6.


  • Butler tied its school record for conference wins (14) for a second straight year.


  • The Bulldogs have clinched their third consecutive 20-win season and fifth straight winning campaign.

    #3 SEED -- DETROIT TITANS (17-13 overall, 14-4 HL)



  • Detroit advanced to the semifinals of the 2010 Speedway Horizon League Championship with a 75-62 win over #6 Loyola on Wednesday.


  • Detroit has won 16 of its last 20 games overall and four of its last five away from Calihan Hall.


  • The Titans own a 31-24 (.564) all-time record against Butler.


  • Detroit has improved from a No. 8 seed in 2009 to a No. 3 seed in 2010. The Titans have also exceeded expectations after being picked No. 8 in the preseason poll.


  • The Titans occupied first place in the standings 15 games into the conference slate. It was the latest UDM had been atop the Horizon League standings since 1997.

    #4 SEED -- CLEVELAND STATE VIKINGS (17-13 overall, 11-7 HL)



  • Cleveland State advanced to the semifinals of the 2010 Speedway Horizon League Championship with a 78-72 win over #5 UIC on Wednesday.


  • Cleveland State has won five of its last six games overall and two of its last three away from the Wolstein Center.


  • The Vikings own a 4-47 (.078) all-time record against Green Bay.


  • Cleveland State was the last team to knock off Green Bay on its home floor. The Vikings rolled to a 90-66 victory over the Phoenix in the 2008 tournament semifinals.
