Complete Day 1 Results Get Acrobat Reader

Carmel, Ind. - Butler women's golf team is doing its best to claim its fourth straight Horizon League Championship as the Bulldogs lead Youngstown State by six strokes after the first 36 holes of the conference tournament at Plum Creek Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.

BU carded a combined total of 642 over the day's action, while YSU finished at 648.

Butler junior Lauren Showers currently leads the tournament with a two-round total of 156. Teammates Niki Garden, Lynnsey Showers and Paige McCracken also place among the top 10 with scores of 161, 162 and 163, respectively.

Youngstown State's Katie Rogner and Adrianna DiLonardo helped the Penguins jump out to the first-round lead after both scored under 80. Rogner kept the pace going in the second-round and finished the day with a 158, good for a second-place tie, while DiLonardo is tied for sixth.

Detroit's Rachel McHenry stands tied for second-place on the leaderboard after two cards of 79, and fellow Titan Mandi Dupuis also figures into the top ten with a total of 163.

The Horizon League Women's Golf Championship resumes Sunday morning at 8 a.m. at Plum Creek Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.
