Player of the Week
Kerri St. Aubin, UW-Milwaukee, Senior, Goalkeeper, Sterling Heights, Mich.
St. Aubin led the Panthers to a 1-0-1 record on the week, playing all 200 minutes. She allowed just one goal and made two saves in UWM's 2-1 win over UW-Green Bay Sept. 21. St. Aubin made a season-high nine saves in keeping Illinois State scoreless through two overtimes in a 0-0 tie Sept. 26 in Normal, Ill. For the week, she racked up 11 saves, while boasting a 0.45 GAA.
With the win over UW-Green Bay on Sept. 21, St. Aubin moved to a perfect 12-0-0 in Horizon League play in her career. Her numbers include a 0.40 GAA and five shutouts, while starting 17 times and playing in 18 total games.
Other Top Performers
Marianne Schilling, Butler, Sophomore, Forward, West Chester, Ohio
Sophomore Marianne Schilling netted her first career goal in the Bulldogs' league-opening match against Wright State Sept. 21. The West Chester, Ohio, native also led Butler with five shots in the match.
Liz Hardy, Detroit, Freshman, Midfielder, Clarkston, Mich.
Hardy scored the game-winning goal in the Titans' only game of the week, a 2-1 win over IPFW. Hardy's corner kick with just 24 seconds left game Detroit its fifth win of the season. She is second on the team with four goals and three assists for 11 points.
Mary Dale, Loyola, Sophomore, Midfielder, Freeport, Ill.
Dale kicked off the scoring frenzy for Loyola on Sept. 26 against Youngstown State. Dale headed in the first goal of the game off a rebound at the 7:02 mark. Then at the 14:00 mark, she returned to nail a five-yard shot into the goal off a free kick. The Ramblers won the game 6-0.
Sarah Olginey, UW-Green Bay, Junior, Midfielder, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.
The junior midfielder broke out of a seven-game goal-scoring slump with a blistering shot against Indiana State Sept. 24 to tie the game at 2-2 for the Phoenix. On the week, Oligney led the Phoenix with six shots in three road games.
Notes and Quotes
Butler Bulldogs (2-3-2, 0-1-0)
The Bulldogs opened up league play as they hosted Wright State at Carmel High School Sept. 24. The Raiders defeated Butler 2-1. This week, BU will make a trip to Dayton for a non-conference match, and then wrap up the week playing two league foes, Loyola and Detroit.
Cleveland State Vikings (0-10-0)
The schedule for the Vikings during their inaugural season was deliberately put together, giving CSU 11 non-conference games - the last of which comes Oct. 1 against Bowling Green - before opening up the eight-match Horizon League slate against UW-Milwaukee on Oct. 3. Cleveland State is the last of the eight Horizon League schools to start conference play. In fact, by the time that the Vikings play their first league game, every other school except Detroit will have played two conference games (Detroit will have played only one), with Youngstown State already being halfway through its schedule (four games).
When Jennifer Wieand took a pass from Amber Rasmussen and scored with just 1:16 left in the match against Valparaiso on Sept. 26, it marked the end to a scoreless streak for the Vikings.
Detroit Titans (5-3-1, 1-0-0)
Sophomore Mary Parker was named to the SoccerBuzz.com National Elite Team of the Week after scoring seven goals, including two game-winners.
Parker is tied for second in the nation in goals scored and is in the top 25 in both points per game and total points. She also leads the Horizon League in goals and points.
Freshman Stacy Armstrong notched her first career goal to tie the Titans' game against IPFW last week. Also scoring her first career point was senior goalkeeper Alisson Dube who assisted on Armstrong's goal.
Loyola Ramblers (4-3-1, 1-0-0)
Stephanie Pauli grabbed another goal for the season against Youngstown State, making it her fifth. She now leads the team with 11 points. Katie Heidenreich participated in two of the six goals against Youngstown State. She is now leading the team with five assists and second on the team in points with nine. The Ramblers will next face Butler in Indianapolis this Friday for their second conference match of the season.
UW-Green Bay Phoenix (2-6-1, 0-1-0)
UW-Green Bay sophomore walk-on Alyson Van Lith had her own "Rudy" moment in the team's loss to #1 Notre Dame Sept. 26. The 5'2" defender made her first collegiate start against the Irish, replacing senior defender Ashley Hammen who was out with a knee injury. Van Lith proceeded to play all 90 minutes of the contest and helped hold Notre Dame senior All-America candidate Candace Chapman without a goal in the match.
The Phoenix will look to halt a four-game slide when the team wraps up its eight-game road swing Oct. 1-3 against Wright State and Youngstown State, respectively.
UW-Milwaukee Panthers (3-6-2, 1-0-0)
Every player is getting into the scoring act for Milwaukee this season. Sophomore Stacey Faude became the sixth Panther to score her first career goal for UWM in 2004. The group, which includes a pair of freshmen and junior Katie Campion who led Western Illinois in scoring as a freshman before transferring to Milwaukee, has accounted for 11-of-14 Black & Gold goals.

Wright State Raiders (5-4-0, 1-0-0)
The Raiders' lone game last week, finished off a five-game road trip. Wright State finshed up the trip 3-2 with wins over Louisville, Western Kentucky and Butler. On Sept. 24, WSU scored two unanswered goals in the second half to defeat Butler and go 1-0 in the HL. The Raiders goals were recorded by Rose Nigro and the game-winning goal was netted by Jodie Shoaf.
Youngstown State Penguins (0-8-1, 0-2-0)
Youngstown State fell 2-1 to Niagara (Sept. 24) and 6-0 to League competitor Loyola (Sept. 26) last week. This week, the Penguins will host UW-Milwaukee on Oct. 1 and UW-Green Bay on Oct. 3.
