CHICAGO- In a repeat of the regular season finale for both teams, Wright State and Butler met in the opening round of the Horizon League Championship. Same match-up, same result as the Raiders swept the Bulldogs 3-0 (30-25, 30-20, 30-21) to advance to the next round of the Horizon League Championship.

Wright State outhit the Bulldogs on the night by a margin of .124, hitting at a .213 clip, while the Bulldogs could only manage a 0.079 percentage on the night.

2005 All-Horizon League selection Sarah Poling led the Raiders with a double-double of 14 kills and 18 digs. Three other Raiders also tallied double-digit digs on the night, including Becky Lowery (18), Alisha Kimbro (11) and Jenny Schultz (11). Poling was the only player in the match to tally double-figures in kills.

Butler libero Megan Knightly finished the match with 26 digs, giving her 1,737 for her career, setting a new Horizon League record. The previous record of 1,722 career digs was held by Jessica Taylor of Butler (1989-1992). Candice Washington led the Bulldogs with nine kills on the night.

The Raiders took all three meetings from the Bulldogs this season, including a pair of four-game wins on Oct. 14 in Indianapolis and November 11 at McLin Gymnasium.

With the win, Wright State (10-19, 5-9) advances to face No. 3 UIC on Friday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. CT. Butler ends its season at 11-16 overall and 6-8 against League opponents.

The 2005 Horizon League Volleyball Championship will be held Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 17-20, at the Flames Center on the campus of University of Illinois at Chicago. The winner of Sunday's championship match will earn the League's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
