Wright State Downs Butler 60-59 in Overtime

Dayton, Ohio - Wright State (7-5, 1-0) took Butler (5-6, 0-1) to overtime at the Nutter Center on Wednesday as it defeated the Bulldogs 60-59. Butler used a 10-2 run in the second period to rally back from a nine-point halftime deficit (34-25). With 43 seconds remaining in regulation, BU's Jackie Closser hit a three-point shot that forced the extra period. After exchanging leads in overtime, the Raiders found themselves trailing 59-58 before Steph Comisar hit a jump shot in the final 17 seconds, which was enough to seal the win. Brittney Whiteside led Wright State with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds while Whitney Lewis followed with 15 points and 11 boards. The Bulldogs were headed up Closser who tallied 15 points and eight rebounds. Cortney Urquhart added 10 points and five boards for the contest.
