DAYTON – Wright State scored the final run in the seventh inning to take control of the Horizon League Baseball Championship, claiming the League's NCAA Tournament berth with a 4-3 victory over Valparaiso at Nischwitz Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Valparaiso was first on the board scoring one run in the first inning off an RBI by Will Hagel.  Wright State answered back in the second as Justin Kopale knocked in Zach Tanner to tie the game 1-1.

The Crusaders reclaimed the lead in the fourth and scored again in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-1 lead over the Raiders.  Wright State struck again tying the game once more with a triple by tournament MVP Zach Tanner.  Justin Kopale hit a two-run homerun, plating Tanner to make it a 3-3 game.

Dan Marsh doubled down the right field line in the bottom of the seventh and was knocked in off a single up the middle by Tristan Moore, with what proved to be the winning run.

The Raiders will represent the Horizon League as the automatic qualifier into the opening round of the NCAA tournament as the conference champion.  The NCAA selection show will air tomorrow at 12:30pm ET and NCAA regionals will begin June 3.
