The Wright State softball team gets it done on the field and in the classroom but last week they took time off to help Habitat for Humanity.  The event was last Saturday, the day before leaving for a fall doubleheader on Sunday in Champaign, Illinois.

The Raiders volunteered their time to build the frame for a house in Trotwood, Ohio, through Stillwater Methodist Church in Dayton.  More than 150 workers build sections of the frame, then put together the overall frame for the house.

“Our motto was from sticks to walls for a deserving family,” said WSU head coach Lynn Curylo.  “It was an awesome experience for all of us.  The players are fired up to do it again next fall.  What is even more important than the build itself is that the players are spreading the word about their experience in order to get others involved in serving their community.”

The house dedication is in November, and the team plans to be there.
