Fairborn, Ohio - Both Wright State swimming and diving teams ranked in the top 25 for best grade point average for all Division I programs in the country during the 2003-04 season, it was announced today by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

On the women's side, the Raiders were 15th as they recorded a 3.37 grade point average. WSU ranked first in the Horizon League and finished ahead of such schools as Brown, Florida, Minnesota, Oregon State and Seton Hall. As a result of making the honor roll, Wright State was named as an Academic Swimming Team by the CSCAA for the 12th consecutive year.

The men were 23rd with a 3.02 grade point average, joining fellow Horizon League members UIC and UW-Milwaukee on the honor roll. This was the fourth straight year that the men's team was named as an Academic Swimming Team by the CSCAA.

Wright State was one of 10 institutions to have both teams make the top 25, joining Brown, Denver, Drexel, Eastern Michigan, Florida, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Indiana and Minnesota.

"It is quite an honor for our teams to be recognized in this area," said Wright State head coach Matt Liddy. "Our players strive to be the best in both the classroom and in competition and it's great to have their efforts be rewarded."

Both programs won Horizon League titles for the second consecutive year and the two have combined for 15 conference crowns since the 1991-92 campaign.
