INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State junior Jake Hibberd and Cleveland State senior Anthony Sambula have been named Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week for the period of April 25-May 1.

Hibberd picked up Batter of the Week accolades after going 7-for-13 (.538) with five RBIs and five runs to help Wright State sweep UIC and split a doubleheader with Butler. He also registered a 1.000 slugging percentage and .625 on-base percentage for the Raiders.

The infielder, a native of Miamisburg, Ohio, went 3-for-4 with two homeruns, and scored three with three RBI in the second game against the Flames.  He also went 3-for-4 with two RBI, a stolen base and a run in the second game against the Bulldogs.

Sambula notched Pitcher of the Week honors for the third time this season and fourth of his career after helping the Vikings to a 5-0 (7inn.) win over Milwaukee on Saturday, splitting a doubleheader with the Panthers.

The left-hander, a native of Novelty, Ohio, pitched a complete game shutout at Milwaukee, leading CSU to its first league road win since 2009.  He allowed just one hit while striking out six against the Panthers.  The Vikings entered the game at 1-12 in Horizon League play, while Milwaukee was 8-6 in the conference.

Wright State and Cleveland State will hit the road on Tuesday as the Raiders travel to Ohio for a 6pm ET game and the Vikings take on Pittsburgh at 7pm.
