INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State freshman Kim Demmings is the Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, for the period from Dec. 5-11, after averaging 19.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in the Raiders’ two games last week.

Demmings led all scorers with 20 points in Wright State’s 77-69 loss to Dayton on Tuesday night. She also pulled down seven rebounds as WSU made a late comeback, cutting an 18-point deficit to four with less than a minute remaining before the Flyers scored the final four points of the contest to seal the win.

On Saturday, Demmings helped Wright State make a late comeback to defeat Southern Illinois, 61-59. The Raiders were trailing 58-56 with 1:52 to play when Demmings completed a three-point play to give Wright State a 59-58 lead it would never lose. The freshman guard added a basked on WSU’s next possession to give the Raiders a 61-58 lead with 1:21 left. For the game, Demmings finished with 18 points, five rebounds and four assists.

The Raiders are back in action Tuesday night when they face Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

Other Top Performers for the Week:
Lydia Bauer, Green Bay (Jr., F) - Bauer scored a team-high 23 points in Green Bay’s 72-65 win at Toledo. She finished 5-6 from three-point range as she scored 18 points in the second half.
Tabitha Gerardot, Valparaiso (So., F) - Gerardot had her third double-double of the year, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in Valpo’s win over IPFW.
Shalonda Winton, Cleveland State (Jr., F) -Winton had a double-double in CSU’s win over Ohio with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Haley Howard, Butler (Fr., F) - Howard averaged 16.0 points per game last week in Butler’s two games. She scored 17 points against Indiana State and had 15 points in the Bulldogs’ win over Ball State.
Heidi Schlegel, Youngstown State (Fr., F) - Schlegel scored a career-high 21 points in YSU’s 55-47 win over Ohio.
Senee Shearer, Detroit (So., G) - Shearer scored a career-high 15 points against Michigan connecting on five three-pointers, all in the second half.
Monica Albano, Loyola (Jr., G) -Albano averaged 14.5 points and 2.0 steals per game in Loyola’s two games last week. Scored 19 points (7-of-11 from the field) in Loyola’s five-point loss to Northwestern.
Ashley Green, Milwaukee (Jr., F) - Green made her first two collegiate starts averaging 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in road games at No. 1/1 Baylor and No. 24/23 Oklahoma.
