INDIANAPOLIS – Wright State junior Cassandra Lloyd (Springfield, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Women’s Runner of the Week, while Youngstown State senior Alisha Anthony (Van Wert, Ohio) has earned Horizon League Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors, for the week beginning Dec. 6.

Opening her season at the Purple and White Invitational, Lloyd swept all three events in which she participated, claiming first place in the 60-meter dash in 7.91.  The junior followed the performance up with a time of 26.42 in the 200 meters, besting a field of 18.  Rounding out her flawless individual effort, Lloyd breezed over the 60 meter hurdles in 8.75 seconds to take the top spot.

Lloyd capped her weekend by helping the Raiders set a new indoor record in the 4x200 relay, as Wright State crossed the tape in 1:47.28.

Competing in just one event at the Golden Flash Gala, Anthony made sure to make it count, tying for first place in the long jump after clearing 5.56 meters.

The Raiders return to competition on Friday, Jan. 7, when they take part in the Buckeye Classic in Columbus, Ohio.  Eight days later, Youngstown State will contest the Bowling Green Team Challenge on the campus of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
