INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State senior Tristan Moore and Valparaiso senior Kevin Wild have been named Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week for the period of April 2-8.

Moore picked up Batter of the Week accolades after helping the Raiders go 4-0 last week to run their win streak to 10 games. In the team’s victory over Xavier, Moore was 4-for-5, including a three-run home run in the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie. Moore continued his hot streak in the weekend series against Youngstown State. In the series opener, Moore hit two home runs, drove in six runs and scored six himself as the Raiders set a program-record with 32 runs. On Friday, Moore was 2-for-3 with a triple, five RBIs and three runs scored as WSU clinched the series with an 18-2 win.

For the week, Moore batted .625 with a slugging percentage of 1.375. He scored 11 runs and drove in 14 more. He was 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts and hit one double, one triple and three home runs. He is currently on a 20-game hitting streak.

Wild picked up his second Pitcher of the Week honors this season after tossing his first collegiate complete game in Valparaiso’s 3-2 win over UIC on Friday. His complete game was crucial after Valpo used five pitcher in Thursday night’s 15-inning win over the Flames. He scattered seven hits over the nine innings and did not allow any free passes while striking out five as the win clinched the series for the Crusaders.

Will Fadness, Milwaukee, Jr., C -
Fadness batted .714 and had a slugging percentage of 1.286 in UWM’s four games last week. He was 8-for-11 in the Panthers’ three-game series against Butler and finished the week with two doubles, two home runs, six runs scored and five RBIs.

Elliott Martin, Valparaiso, Jr., IF - Martin had a hit in all four Crusader games last week as the Crusaders won their weekend series over UIC. He batted .353 and drove in five runs, including a two-run home run, his first this season.

Eric Semmelhack, Milwaukee, Jr., RHP - Semmelhack earned the victory in UWM’s series-opening win over Butler, pitching seven innings and allowing just four hits and two earned runs, while striking out eight.

Eric Stout, Butler, Fr., LHP - Stout threw 6.0 innings and allowed just two runs in Butler’s 3-2 win over Milwaukee on Friday to even the series. He struck out four and walked one while giving up six hits to earn the win.
