INDIANAPOLIS --- Wright State University junior outfielder Jamie Perkins has been named the Horizon League Softball Player of the Week, while Cleveland State University junior righthander Amanda Macenko has earned Pitcher-of-the-Week accolades for the week ending March 29, the League office announced Tuesday (March 31).

Perkins batted .480 (11-for-23) with four home runs, 11 runs-batted-in and seven runs scored as Wright State went 4-2 last week, including 2-1 in a Horizon League series against Youngstown State University. She hit for a `home-run cycle' during the week, hitting two- and three-run homers against Ohio University and then adding a solo shot and grand slam versus YSU. For the season, Perkins is hitting .342 with team highs of six home runs and 23 RBI. The weekly honor is Perkins' first of her career.
Pitcher of the Week
Amanda Macenko, Cleveland State

Macenko earned her second straight pitching honor and ninth of her career by going 3-1 with a 0.68 earned-run average in five appearances last week. She threw 31 innings, striking out 44 with only four walks and five runs allowed (three earned). In a League series against the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Macenko was 2-1 with a 1.00 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 21 innings. She is 11-8 on the season with a 3.17 ERA and 122 strikeouts in 121.1 innings and has moved into second place on Cleveland State's career wins list with 63.
