INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State sophomore guard Mark Alstork (Dayton, Ohio/Thurgood Marshall) has been named the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while UIC freshman forward Dikembe Dixson (Freeport, Ill./Mingo Central [W. Va.]) has been named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week.

Alstork won his first Horizon League Player of the Week honor after helping lead Wright State to a 3-0 week. The sophomore guard averaged 17.3 points per game for the week and connected on 54.8% of his field goal attempts, including hitting 53.8 percent (7-of-13) of his three-point attempts.

He opened the week with 21 points as the Raiders battled back from a 14-point deficit to nip Detroit, 77-76. On Friday, he scored 12 points as Wright State handed Valparaiso its first League loss with a 73-62 victory. The Raiders trailed at halftime, but outscored Valpo by 14 to win. Alstork hit all three of his field goal attempts in the second half against the Crusaders, including both of his three-point attempts. The Dayton, Ohio, native closed the week with 19 points and nine rebounds in the win over UIC.

Wright State (13-8, 7-1) has won six games and 10 of its last 11. The Raiders hit the road this week and will play at Oakland on Friday and at Detroit on Sunday.

Dixson captured his fifth Horizon League Freshman of the Week award this season. The six-foot-seven forward averaged 22.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in three games last week. He registered his third career double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds in UIC’s overtime loss at Northern Kentucky on Friday. He followed up with a career-high 29 points as the Flames fell at Wright State.

In Horizon League contests only, Dixson ranks fourth in scoring with an average of 19.6 points per game and is eighth in rebounding at 6.4 per game.

After playing six of its first eight HL games on the road, UIC returns home this week for two contests. The Flames host Youngstown State on Thursday and Cleveland State on Saturday.

Top Performers for the Week:
Jalen Billups, Northern Kentucky (Sr., F) - Billups tallied 22 points on 7-8 shooting from the field and an 8-8 performance at the foul line as NKU scored its first Horizon League road win with a 90-73 victory at Oakland on Tuesday. He added 12 points in NKU’s win over UIC on Friday before closing the week with a 17-point, eight-rebound performance versus Valparaiso on Saturday. For the week, he was 19-of-29 from the field and averaged 17 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
Kay Felder, Oakland (Jr., G) - Felder scored 29 points and passed out 14 assists at Green Bay on Saturday for his ninth double-double of the season. He tied his career-high with 19 made free throws against the Phoenix. Earlier in the week, he scored 25 points against Northern Kentucky.
Demonte Flannigan, Cleveland State (Jr., F) - Flannigan averaged 13.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in two games last week. He shot 60% from the field. He scored 18 points against Youngstown State on Sunday.
Jordan Johnson, Milwaukee (Jr., G) - Johnson paced Milwaukee to win over Detroit with a season-high 25 points. He was 7-of-10 from the field and 8-of-9 from the foul line and added six assists and four rebounds in the win.
Cameron Morse, Youngstown State (So., G) - Morse led the Penguins to a 1-1 week. He averaged 18.5 points per game and shot 50% (12-of-24) from the field. He also made 83.3% (10-of-12) of his free throw attempts. Against Valparaiso, Morse connected on 10-of-16 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers for 23 points. It marked his eighth 20-point game this season. He also scored 14 points in the win against Cleveland State. Morse has also scored in double figures in 15 straight games.
Darien Walker, Valparaiso (Sr., G) - Walker tied for team-high honors with 18 points, connecting on 4-of-5 shots from long distance. He led the Crusaders with 17 points at Wright State, 15 of which came in the first half when he went 5-for-5 from three-point range. He finished the week averaging 13.0 points per game and shot 51.9% from the field including 60% (9-of-15) from three-point range.
Anton Wilson, Detroit (Sr., G) - Wilson scored in double figures in both UDM games last week. He tallied 16 points with four rebounds and two assists at Wright State and had 13 points, three rebounds and three assists on Saturday at Milwaukee.

Top Freshmen for the Week:
Rob Edwards, Cleveland State (Fr., G) - Edwards averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in two games last week. He scored 24 points with six rebounds and four assists in the win over UIC. He had 16 points and four rebounds against Youngstown State on Sunday.
Drew McDonald, Northern Kentucky (Fr., F) - McDonald notched his second career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in NKU’s 90-73 win at Oakland on Tuesday. He followed up that performance with 18 points and eight rebounds in the win over UIC. For the week, he averaged 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
