INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State senior guard Chrishawn Hopkins (Indianapolis, Ind./Manual) has been named the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Milwaukee freshman guard Justin Jordan (Davidson, N.C./ Hargrave Military Academy) has been named the Freshman of the Week, for the week of Nov. 10-16.

Hopkins opened the season with back-to-back 20-point performances for the Raiders as they won two home contests. On Friday night, he scored 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting for Wright State as they defeated defending OVC regular season champion Belmont, 73-70. The Raiders trailed 70-66 with two minutes to play Friday night, but ended the game on a 7-0 run that featured four points from the senior guard. Hopkins also grabbed five rebounds and passed out two assists in the contest. On Sunday, Hopkins scored a game-and-career-high 25 points in Wright State’s 76-64 win over Ohio Dominican. The Indianapolis native was 10-of-17 from the floor and 5-for-5 at the foul line. He added seven rebounds, three assists and a game-high three steals.

For the weekend, Hopkins averaged 23 points per game on 51.4 percent shooting (18-35).

Jordan came off the bench to finish with 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 23 minutes of action at Auburn. The rookie was forced to play heavy minutes in the first half due to foul trouble and responded with seven points as the Panthers went into the break with a 32-29 lead. He finished the contest 5-of-7 from the field, including 1-for-1 from three-point range. His 11 points are the most by a UWM true freshman since Tony Meier had 14 points versus Loyola Marymount on Nov. 14, 2008.

Wright State (2-0) is back in action Wednesday with a game at Bowling Green before playing at Charleston Southern, which opened the season with a win at Ole Miss, on Saturday. Milwaukee (0-1) has its first game in the newly named UWM Panther Arena on Monday night as it hosts Minnesota-Crookston. The Panthers will also face IUPUI this week before closing the week at Oklahoma State.

Top Performers for the Week:
Kahlil Felder, Oakland
(So., G) - Felder recorded the fourth double-double of his career with 23 points and 10 assists in Oakland’s game at 14th-ranked Iowa State. It marked Felder’s seventh career game with double-figure assists.
Bobby Hain, Youngstown State (Jr., C) - After opening the season with 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting against Kent State, had a career-high 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season in the win over Oberlin on Sunday. He shot 13-of-20 from the field in the first two games of the season.
Trey Lewis, Cleveland State (Jr., G) - Lewis scored 16 points with seven rebounds and five assists in season-opener at Iona.
Alec Peters, Valparaiso (So., F) - Peters had a game-high 27 points in Valpo’s season-opening 90-76 win over ETSU. He was 9-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-6 from three-point range in the outing.
Akeem Springs, Milwaukee (So., G) - In his Milwaukee debut, Springs led the Panthers with 21 points, seven rebounds and three assist.
Keifer Sykes, Green Bay (Sr., G) - Sykes scored 22 points in just 26 minutes to lead the Phoenix to a season-opening win. He became the 10th player to reach 1,500 career points during the game. He tallied six assists with zero turnovers and shot 8-of-11 from the field.
Jake Wiegand, UIC (Jr., F) - In UIC’s ferocious comeback at DePaul on Friday, Wiegand had a game-and-career-high 12 rebounds. He added 15 points for his second career double-double.
Anton Wilson, Detroit (Jr., G) - Wilson made his first seven shots of the season, including his first four three-pointers on his way to scoring 20 points in Detroit’s 77-54 season-opening win over Rochester College. He was 7-of-8 from the field and added four rebounds and two steals in the game.

Paris Bass, Detroit
(Fr., G/F) - In his Titan debut, had 13 points (6-of-10 shooting) and five rebounds as the Titans rolled over Rochester College, 77-54.
Grant Benzinger, Wright State (Fr., G) - Benzinger had eight points and four rebounds in his first collegiate game, a 73-70 win over Belmont.
Daeshon Francis, Green Bay (Fr., G) - Francis scored nine points in his debut outing. He was a perfect 2-for-2 from the field and 5-of-6 from the foul line. He also added five rebounds and four assists to lead the Phoenix bench in points, rebounds and assists.
Tai Odiase, UIC (Fr., F/C) - Odiase scored six points, grabbed two rebounds and had a blocked shot in first collegiate game. He made a pair of free throws with 2:16 left to play to tie the game at DePaul. Tied the game again with a put back bucket with 1:11 remaining.
Tevonn Walker, Valparaiso (Fr., G) - Walker debuted with 16 points, including a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line in Valpo’s win over ETSU.
