Former Wright State women's basketball player Ivory James has signed a contract to play professionally for Clubul Sportiv Phoenix Galati in Romania.

CS Phoenix Galati is part of Liga Nationala, the top women's league in Romania.  The team, which starts its 2014-15 campaign in October, finished 10-16 last season.

A First Team All-Horizon League selection in 2013-14, James ranked fifth in the league with a 17.2 scoring average and was sixth in defensive rebounds per game (4.9), tied for sixth in steals per game (1.8), ninth in free throw percentage (.749), 12th in rebounds per game (6.5), 13th in threes made per game (1.7), 14th in three-point percentage (.343). 
In league play, James was tied for third with an 18.3 scoring average and was third in free throw percentage (.807), tied for fourth in steals per game (1.8), seventh in defensive rebounds per game (4.9), 14th in rebounds per game (6.4) and 15th in threes made per game (1.6).

Named the Horizon League Player of the Week on November 18 and to the Wright State Invitational All-Tournament Team in December, James had a season-high 35 points at Murray State on November 21 as she scored in double figures in all but two games.  She scored 32 at Cleveland State on February 8 and had 20 or more points in a game 11 times.

James helped lead Wright State to its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division I Tournament in 2014, pacing the Raiders with 16 points in WSU's first round game at Kentucky on March 22.  She also assisted in the team setting single-season records in wins, points scored and scoring average, field goals made and attempted, three-point field goals made and attempted, free throws made and attempted and free throw percentage.

During the 2012-13 season, James' first at Wright State after transferring from Monroe Community College, she was a Horizon League All-Newcomer Team honoree as she averaged 11.2 points per game overall and 13.7 points per game during league play.
