Indianapolis – Wright State junior Nick Scott (Union, Ohio) and Oakland freshman Elle Nichols (Okemos, Mich.) have been named the Horizon League Golfers of the Week for the period of Sept. 25-30.

Scott finished in a tie for first at the Cleveland State Invitational after firing a two-round score of three-under-par. The final round of play was washed out. He is the first WSU medalist in a tournament since Brandon Knutson won the Horizon League in 2006 and he’s the first winner of a regular season tournament since 2002.

Scott has now won back-to-back Men’s Golfer of the Week Awards. He has played four of his last five rounds below par.

Nichols earned Golfer of the Week honors after winning the Golden Grizzlies Invitational. She carded a 74-75 to finish one shot ahead of second place. It was Nichols first collegiate win in just her third tournament. She is the first Oakland player to finish as medalist since 2011.
