INDIANAPOLIS -- Youngstown State freshman Remi Chancerel (Dax, France) is the Men’s Tennis Player of the Week while Oakland's Cam Sabourin (Quebec City, Quebec) is the Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 31-April 6. This is the second weekly honor that Chancerel has received this season.

The Youngstown State men’s tennis team took on conference-foe Cleveland State Saturday at the Boardman Tennis Center. The Penguins clinched the double point and carried over the momentum into singles play where the squad collected three of the six singles matches. Youngstown State won the match 4-3 to move to a perfect 3-0 in Horizon League competition.

Chancerel played a key role in the Penguins’ victory over the Vikings, winning at both No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles. In singles play against Cleveland State’s Jorg Van der Vloet, the freshman won in straight-sets 6-2, 6-4 to collect the point. With teammate Silviu Mistreanu against the Vikings’ Manuel Bellutti and Mirko Radosevic the pair won 6-4 to claim one of the two Youngstown State doubles wins.

The Golden Grizzlies women’s team hosted Wright State Friday at the Bloomfield Tennis and Fitness Center. Oakland clinched the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 and claimed the singles points at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 to total four points for the squad. The 4-3 victory over the Raiders was the team’s second conference win of the season.

Sabourin won in both singles and double play during the match to be part of two of the four points the Golden Grizzlies tallied. At No. 1 singles, Sabourin defeated Wright State’s Vanessa Madrigal in straight-sets 6-4, 6-2. Earlier in the match with teammate Camille Hemond-Hill the duo won their match at No. 1 doubles 6-3.
