INDIANAPOLIS -- Youngstown State senior forward Bobby Hain (Jupiter, Fla./Jupiter) has been named the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Cleveland State freshman guard Rob Edwards (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech) has been named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week.

Hain led the Penguins in scoring and rebounding in all three of their games last week as Youngstown State won all three. He started the week with a career-high 29 points in a 79-69 win over North Dakota. The win was the first of the season for YSU and was Penguins Head Coach Jerry Slocum’s 700th career win as he became the 38th coach in NCAA History to reach 700 career wins.

Hain added 10 rebounds against North Dakota for his second double-double of the season as he connected on 12-of-17 field goal attempts and added four assists and two steals.

On Wednesday, the HL’s active career leading scorer had 13 points and eight rebounds as the Penguins defeated Thiel, 69-55. Hain closed the week with another double-double - falling just one assist shy of the first triple-double in YSU history - posting 16 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in YSU’s 88-70 win at Niagara.

For the week, Hain averaged 19.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game, while shooting 57.1 percent from the field.

Youngstown State (3-4) is in action twice this week with both games being played at the Beeghly Center. The Penguins return to action with a game on Wednesday versus Robert Morris and close the week on Saturday with a game against American.

Edwards was named Freshman of the Week after averaging 12.7 points per game in three Vikings games last week. He was named to the Cancun Challenge Mayan Division All-Tournament team after averaging 12.0 points in two games, including 17 in a 57-52 win over Rider. He scored 14 points and had three assists in CSU’s game at second-ranked Maryland on Saturday.

He shot 14-of-27 (51.9%) from the field in the three games and had seven rebounds, six assists and four steals in 94 minutes of action.

Cleveland State (2-4) plays at Toledo on Saturday, before welcoming Kent State to Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday.

Top Performers for the Week:
Kay Felder, Oakland (Jr., G) - Felder had double-doubles in all three Oakland games last week and has started the season with five consecutive 20+point and 10+assist performances. He was one rebound shy of a triple-double at Southern Illinois with 27 points, 10 assists and one rebound. He went 6-for-6 from behind the arc to finish with 21 points in the win over Abilene Christian.
Demonte Flannigan, Cleveland State (Jr., F) - Flannigan averaged 11.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in CSU’s three games last week. He scored a team-high 20 points in CSU’s game at second-ranked Maryland on Saturday.
Jordan Fouse, Green Bay (Sr., G) - Fouse averaged a double-double last week for the Phoenix in wins over Akron and Eastern Illinois. He had a career-high 16 rebounds in the win over Akron. He finished the week with 23 points and 26 rebounds. He leads the HL in rebounding and is one of two players in the HL averaging a double-double this season.
Chris Jenkins, Detroit (Jr., G) - Jenkins posted a career-high 25 point against UM-Dearborn last week. He recorded his second career double-double on Saturday with 16 points and a career-high tying 13 rebounds in UDM’s five-point loss at Oral Roberts. He shot over 50 percent for the week (14-of-27).
Jordan Johnson, Milwaukee (Jr., G) - Johnson averaged 12.3 points, 10.3 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game in UWM’s three games at the Gulf Coast Showcase. In an 84-78 win over Central Michigan, he had a season-high 18 points and nine assists. His 13 assists versus Duquesne tied for the second-highest total in Milwaukee’s Division I history.
Tai Odiase, UIC (So., C) - Odiase scored a career-high 23 points in UIC’s 96-58 win over Roosevelt last week. In two games for the Flames last week, he averaged a team-best 14.5 points per game.
Alec Peters, Valparaiso (Jr., F) - Peters scored a season-high 28 points in Valpo’s game on Saturday at Ball State. He shot 10-of-18 from the field, including 5-of-9 from long distance. He had 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in Valpo’s win at Oregon State on Tuesday.
Joe Thomasson, Wright State (Sr., G) - Thomasson had 17 points and six rebounds in WSU’s win over Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday night. For the week, he scored 23 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had seven assists in two games.
Tyler White, Northern Kentucky (Sr., G) - White had a career-high 25 points at 23-ranked Xavier on Monday night. He hit three three-pointers and was 8-of-9 from the foul line, while also passing out four assists and grabbing two rebounds. In two games versus nationally ranked opponents this season, White is averaging 21 points per game.

Top Freshmen for the Week:
Brad Brechting, Oakland (Fr., C) - Brechting scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting in the Golden Grizzlies win over Alcorn State. He also grabbed six rebounds in the win.
Dikembe Dixson, UIC (Fr., F) - Dixson nearly averaged a double-double last week with 9.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He had a career-high 15 rebounds and career-high three blocked shots in the win over Roosevelt. In the game against Drake, he matches his career-high with a team-best 13 points.
Aaron Foster-Smith, Detroit (Fr., F) - Foster-Smith tallied a season-high 22 points and six rebounds in the win over UM-Dearborn. He was 8-of-12 from the field, including a perfect 4-of-4 from behind the arc.
