INDIANAPOLIS – Youngstown State junior outfielder Jordan Ingalls (Bolivar, N.Y.) has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week, while Butler senior pitcher Jennifer Chasteen (Avon, Ind.) has been tabbed the League Pitcher of the Week, for the week beginning March 14.  Both players are picking up their second such awards of the season.

Ingalls led Youngstown State (15-7) to a 6-2 record last week at the Rebel Games, as the Penguins sandwiched wins over Rider, Hartford, Lafayette, Siena, Bucknell and Colgate around setbacks to Columbia and Farleigh Dickinson.  The junior went 17-for-31 on the week, driving in 12 of YSU’s 52 runs while slugging .548 behind a double, two triples and home run.

Recording a hit in each game, Ingalls had six multi-hit contests, including the finale over Colgate, in which Youngstown State rallied from a 5-0 deficit after five innings.  The junior drove in the game-winning run in that contest, as the Penguins bested their win total (14) from the 2010 season.

Butler (11-5) went 9-1 on its swing through the Rebel Games, as Chasteen appeared in five games while going 3-0.  The senior did not allow an earned run in 22.2 innings pitched in Kissimmee, Fla., extending her scoreless streak to 36.1 innings this spring.

Chasteen started the week by striking out six in a 3-1 victory over Colgate before tossing two shutouts against St. Peter’s to lead the Bulldogs to two 10-0 victories.  In the second blanking of the Peacocks, Chasteen struck out seven while allowing just two hits

Youngstown State heads to Robert Morris for a Wednesday doubleheader before welcoming Loyola to Canfield, Ohio, for the beginning of Horizon League play on March 26.  Butler stays in-state this week, heading down state road 37 for a Tuesday doubleheader at Indiana University before playing host to Indiana State on Thursday.
