INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Youngstown State freshman Allison Ludwig earns Women’s Soccer Player of the Week honors for the period of Aug. 20 – 22.
Ludwig became the first player in Penguin history to post a hat trick in her first collegiate outing. The Centerville, Ohio, native, netted three goals in a 3-1 win over Robert Morris on Friday. She is now just the eighth player in YSU annals to record a three-goal effort. The forward also becomes the second women’s soccer player in school history to garner a weekly honor since YSU joined the league in 2001.
Youngstown State ended up 1-1 on the weekend after suffering a 3-0 setback to Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday. The Penguins hit the road this weekend with games at IPFW and Toledo.
