INDIANAPOLIS -- Youngstown State junior guard Kendrick Perry (Ocoee, Fla./Edgewater) is the Horizon League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Wright State freshman forward JT Yoho (Solsberry, Ind./Eastern Greene) is the Newcomer of the Week, for the week of Nov. 12-18.

Youngstown State (3-0) opened the week by rolling past Georgia, 68-56, in the Legends Classic on Monday before returning to the Beeghly Center and collecting a 75-60 victory over St. Francis (Pa.) in its home opener. Wright State (3-0) opened 3-0 for the first time in a decade after winning consecutive 56-44 games, the first coming at Eastern Illinois and the latter over North Carolina A&T.

Rebounding from a bout of food poisoning, Perry was the Penguins’ leading scorer in both wins, pouring in 23 against Georgia ahead of a 19-point effort versus St. Francis. Perry went 6-for-12 from the floor in both victories, adding eight assists and six steals on the week.

Perry was the Penguins’ most efficient player in both games as Youngstown State opened the year 3-0 for the second consecutive season.

Last week, Yoho went 9-for-12 from the floor, including a 6-of-8 mark from three-point range. The freshman led Wright State in scoring in both wins, posting 14 points at Eastern Illinois and 15 against North Carolina A&T. In limited possessions, Yoho boasts the best offensive rating in the Horizon League through the first 10 days of the season, at 156.2, per KenPom.com.

Youngstown State will wrap up the Legends Classic Monday-Wednesday, meeting North Dakota State, James Madison and Duquesne, in Pittsburgh, Pa. Wright State heads to Salt Lake City for the Utah Thanksgiving Tournament. The Raiders will meet Central Michigan on Wednesday before games with Idaho State and Utah on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
