Rain forced a three-hour delay during the second round of the 2010 Horizon LeagueWomen’s Golf Championship. Play resumed again at 6:15 p.m. with the final pairing completing the first nine holes before sunset. Action will begin at 7 a.m. ET tomorrow to conclude round two. The same pairs will tee off immediately after round two, commencing the third and final round. Currently Youngstown State sits in first with a +31 followed by Detroit at +38.
In first round action, Detroit jumped out to an early lead, shooting 300 (+12) while Butler (+22) and Youngstown State (+24) trailed in second and third place, respectively. Titan junior Marni Achterhoff led all individuals after 18 holes with a 72 par while teammate Alainna Stefan was tied for the second-best score at 73 (+1). Also recording a 73 was YSU’s Samantha Formeck, last year’s top medalist and Horizon League Player and Newcomer of the Year.
