INDIANAPOLIS -- Butler’s Katie Clark (Beverly, U.K.) and Loyola’s Alison Szykowny (Palos Heights, Ill.) have been named the Horizon League Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 23 - 29.

Clark, a junior, competed in the 3000m run at the Indiana Relays. She finished in second place out of fifteen competitors with a time of 9:22.17. She was the first collegiate runner to cross the line, only trailing Butler’s assistant coach Mason Cathey. Clark’s time at the Indiana Relays was a personal best.

Szykowny competed in the weight throw and shot put over the weekend at the Chicago Duals. The freshman set a new school record in the weight throw with a toss of 50-00.00 (15.24m) to take second place. She became the first Rambler to hit the 50-foot mark, breaking Jordan Rolhfing’s previous record of 49-05.75 she set last season. In the shot put, she had a 36-11.00 (11.25m) heave for fifth place. This is the first Athlete of the Week honor for Szykowny.

Butler and Loyola will travel to Notre Dame, Ind. for the Meyo Invitational on Feb. 2.
