DAYTON, Ohio - Quentin Cate, a senior third baseman on the Wright State baseball team, has been selected as CollegeBaseballInsider.com's National Player of the Week for the week ending April 5.

In a win over Otterbein on March 30, Cate went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two RBI. Against Xavier on March 31, Cate was 2-for-5, both of the hits doubles, with three RBI.

In the series opener at Butler on April 2, Cate went 3-for-5 with a home run and a double, four runs and seven RBI, three of those coming on the roundtripper. He then went 3-for-5 with five RBI in the first game of the doubleheader against the Bulldogs on April 3, including a two-run homer, and wrapped up the week by going 5-for-6 in the second game with three RBI and four runs scored.

Cate earlier this week was selected as the Horizon League Batter of the Week for his efforts. It is the second time this season that a WSU player has received a national honor as Alex Kaminsky was named as CollegeBaseball360.com's Primetime Pitcher of the Week on March 9.

Wright State (12-10) returns to Horizon League play this weekend with a three-game series at Cleveland State, starting with a single game Friday at 4 p.m. ET.
