The Chancellor's Cup dual between Green Bay and Milwaukee takes center stage on a light weekend in Horizon League men's soccer. Sitting directly next to each other in the standings, the match will have lasting implications on the race for the Horizon League Tournament.
With all nine teams taking Friday off, seven Horizon League teams will be in action on Saturday, beginning with league-leading Loyola (3-5-2, 3-0-1 Horizon) stepping out of Horizon League play to head to Rochester, Mich., and a non-conference meeting with Oakland at 1 p.m. ET.
The last unbeaten, untied team in NCAA Division I, No. 12 Butler (9-0-0, 3-0-0 Horizon) will continue their four-match homestand when they host UIC (3-6-0, 1-2-0 Horizon) at 4 p.m. on Saturday from the Butler Bowl. Sitting one point behind Loyola through two weeks of conference action, the Bulldogs will have a chance to assume the top spot in the Horizon League standings.
Cleveland State (5-6-0, 2-2-0 Horizon), coming off a strong midweek 2-0 win over Pittsburgh, will reenter Horizon League play by hosting Valparaiso (6-3-2, 1-3-0 Horizon) in a key conference match. Tied for third in the points, the Vikings would like to separate themselves from a talented Crusader squad that resides in a tie with Green Bay (5-4-1, 1-2-0 Horizon) and UIC for sixth entering the weekend.

The nightcap on Saturday, Milwaukee (3-5-2, 2-2-0 Horizon) hosts Green Bay for bragging rights and the Chancellor's Cup. Reigning Horizon League Player of the Week JC Banks leads the conference in goals (6), assists (5) and points (17) and will lead the Phoenix offense into Engelmann Field on Saturday.
The Panthers come into Saturday night's clash on a high, having put a halt to Cleveland State's 16-game home unbeaten streak with a 1-0 double overtime victory last Sunday. Sophomore John Shakon picked up his second shutout of the year, while Jordan Record collected his first career goal.
Milwaukee's three wins and two ties have already matched last year's total, while their five losses have come to teams with a combined 33-16-7 (.652) record.
Sunday, Wright State (4-6-1, 0-2-1 Horizon) will host Detroit (4-6-1, 2-2-0 Horizon) in a conference clash featured live on HLN. The Raiders will be looking to pick up their first Horizon League win of 2010, while the Titans, winners of four of their last six matches, will look to collect their second conference road win of the season.
