The Horizon League has placed two teams in the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship. Cleveland State became an automatic qualifier by winning the conference tournament on Sunday, while Green Bay secured an at-large berth on Monday.
Cleveland State (19-13) has earned a No. 15 seed and will face #2 Notre Dame (27-5) on Sunday at the Joyce Center in South Bend, Ind. Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m. ET and the game will be shown live on ESPN.
Green Bay (27-4) has earned a No. 12 seed and will square off with #5 Virginia (21-9) on Sunday at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa. Tip-off is set for 7:21p.m. ET and the game will be shown live on ESPN2.
The Vikings finished fourth in the Horizon League's regular-season standings, but upset top-seeded Green Bay in the semifinals and second-seeded Butler in the finals of the Speedway Horizon League Championship.
CSU will be making its second NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. The 15th-seeded Vikings suffered an 85-47 loss to second-seeded Stanford in the opening round of its last berth in 2008.
The Phoenix won the Horizon League's regular-season title, but dropped an 83-75 overtime decision to Cleveland State in the semifinals of the Speedway Horizon League Championship.
UWGB will be making its 10th NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. The 11th-seeded Phoenix suffered a 69-59 defeat to sixth-seeded LSU in the opening round of its last berth in 2009.
The at-large berth was the Horizon League's first in 24 years of women's basketball.
