Thrilling Milwaukee Comeback Comes Up Just Short-- Box Score
CHICAGO, Ill. - Senior Ashley Green scored a game-high 23 points and forced a late tie in regulation but UIC held on for a 72-70 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team Wednesday evening at the UIC Pavilion.

The Panthers (8-17, 4-9 Horizon League) used a 15-4 scoring run to get back into the game down the stretch against the Flames (15-11, 5-8 Horizon League). Green's jumper in the paint tied the contest at 70-70 with 27.7 seconds but Kendyl Nunn's putback with 13 seconds remaining decided the outcome. UWM had one final chance to force overtime but could not convert.

"All credit to UIC. They had some players that really stepped up and hit some big shots for them," Milwaukee head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "When you look at the stat sheet – we had a positive assist-to-turnover ratio, shooting the percentage that we did and only giving UIC 12 offensive rebounds – you would never guess that we lost this game."
