INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State senior Andrew Bailey (Rocky River, Ohio) has been named Horizon League Men’s Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1.
Bailey led Cleveland State to a second-place finish at the Cleveland State Invitational. The right-handed golfer shot rounds of 70-70-68 (208, -8) at Barrington C.C. to finish in third-place, two shots off the pace set by Nick Dennis of Loyola. Cincinnati shot a blistering 29-under-par to win the team portion of the event. This is the third time Bailey has been named the Horizon League Golfer of the Week.
Cleveland State is back in action on Oct. 7-8 at the Bearcat Invitational. The Vikings will look to improve upon their sixth-place finish at the event last fall.
Top Golfers of the Week:
Evan Bowser, Oakland (So., Dearborn, Mich.) - Shot rounds of 70-71-72 (213, -3) at the Cleveland State Invitational to finish in a tie for seventh.
Joe Harris, Valparaiso (Jr., Washington, Iowa) - Opened with rounds of 75-71 and was tied for the lead at the John Dallio Memorial. Shot a final round 78 to tie for fourth.
Aaron Knutson, Detroit (So., Lake Orion, Mich.) - Tied for ninth at the Cleveland State Invitational. Posted rounds of 70-67-77 (214, -2) to lead the Titans to a third-place finish.
Brandon Pluchinsky, Youngstown State (So., North Lima, Ohio) - Co-leader after the first round of the Cleveland State Invitational after an opening 67. Closed with rounds of 73-74 to finish at 214 (-2) and a tie for ninth.
