INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State freshman forward Sarah Kaiser (Erie, Pa./ Mercyhurst Prep) is the Horizon League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate senior goalkeeper Sarah Wood (Spokane, Wash. / Lewis & Clark) has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 9-15.

Cleveland State continued its non-League slate with a pair of shuout wins over the weekend. On Friday, the Vikings defeated UMass-Lowell by a score of 2-0. On Sunday, the Vikings downed Robert Morris 3-0.

Kaiser scored a goal in each of the teams two matches over the weekend. Her goal against UMass-Lowell on Friday came from 30-yards out, and was the first goal of her career. On Sunday, she netted the first goal of the game against Robert Morris. This is Kaiser’s first Horizon League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor.

Wood posted two shutouts to help the Vikings go 2-0 over the weekend. Against UMass-Lowell, Wood played 63:08 and made two saves. In the matchup versus Robert Morris, Wood played all 90 minutes and made seven saves in the shutout. For the season, Wood has made 59 saves with a .819 save percentage. This is her second Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.

Cleveland State hosts Madonna on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 4:00 p.m. ET and Ohio on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Top Offensive Performers for the Week:
Joan Sieja, Oakland (So., F/M) - Netted the game-winning goal against Northern Kentucky.
Kelly Lewers, Milwaukee (Jr., F) - Scored the game-winner with with 1:07 remaining versus Miami (Ohio) and also assisted on two other goals for the Panthers.
Katie Hohmann, Youngstown State (So., MF) - Had a team best three shots on goal against Northern Kentucky; one of which she connected on for her first goal of the season.

Top Defensive Performers for the Week:
Payj O’Shea
, Oakland (Sr., GK) - Made seven saves in a loss at Northwestern. Followed that up with a four save performance in a win over Northern Kentucky.
Justy Linton, Green Bay (So., D) - Netted the game winner in a 1-0 victory over Northern Illinois while helping the defense pitch two shutouts.
Kristen Manski, Valparaiso (Sr., GK) - Posted a shutout versus IUPUI, tying her for second in Horizon League history with 27 career shutouts.
