INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State’s Berry Thompson is the Horizon League Men’s Swimmer of the Week and Josh Gonzalez is the Men’s Diver of the Week for the period of Oct. 11-17.
Thompson, a sophomore from Woodmere, Ohio helped the Vikings win every swimming event on Friday, (Oct 15) when Cleveland State hosted their season opener at Busbey Natatorium. He took first in the 100 yard Free finishing with a time of 45:68 and the 100 yard Fly in a time of 51:16. He also took part in the 200 yard Medley Relay (1:34.52) and the 200 yard Free Relay finishing in a time of 1:25.22.
Gonzalez, a junior from Brunswick, Ohio took second-place in the 1 and 3 meter dives on Friday. He scored 255.40 points in the 1-meter and earned 280.72 points in the 3-meter dive. He was Cleveland State’s top diver in both events.
Cleveland State returns to action on Friday, (Oct. 22) traveling to Valparaiso for a 2pm (EST) meet and then heads to Green Bay Saturday (Oct. 23) with competition beginning at noon.
