Nakashima's Late Goal Lifts Titans Past Western Illinois, 2-1
Sophomore Don Nakashima (Novi, Mich. / Novi) scored the game-winning goal off a corner kick in the 75th minute to help propel the University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Western Illinois University in the opener of the 2015 Radisson Invitational on the campus of Western Michigan University. Madrid Repeats Overtime Heroics as Crusaders Win at IUPUI
For the second time in the last three matches, Valparaiso men’s soccer junior Isaiah Madrid (Albuquerque, N.M./Eldorado [Florida Gulf Coast]) found the back of the net in extra time, scoring in the 107th minute as the Crusaders won Friday night at IUPUI, 2-1. Read more
Bruins Baffled in Bonus Time
Nashville, Tenn.- The Belmont University men's soccer team suffered a stunning 1-0 loss in overtime Friday evening, against Appalachian State at E.S. Rose Park.
Just as Belmont managed to fight off Appalachian State and force an overtime period, midway through the bonus stanza the Mountaineer's Trey Hemphill beat Belmont keeper Clark Page (Delafield, Wis.) for the match's lone goal. Hemphill's unassisted tally came from just outside of the box near the right side of the pitch and his score put a sour taste in Belmont's mouth after a strong defense performance. Read more
Men's Soccer Suffers 3-1 Loss to UAB in Classic Opener
The UIC men’s soccer team (1-2-1) could not come back after giving up three second-half goals on Friday night as it fell to UAB (2-3-0) to open the UAB “Soccer for a Cure” Classic at West Campus Field. Abel Guzman grabbed the Flames’ lone goal with his first of the season in the 71st minute. Read more

An early strike from the Grand Canyon’s Niki Jackson in the 36th minute found the Phoenix trailing for the first time in regulation this season.
