DeWeese had 59 kills on a League-best .438 attack percentage last week as she was named to the All-Tournament team at the UND Classic. She has helped GB get off a 7-3 start, its best start since the 2003 season. Through three weeks of the season, she leads the HL with a .372 hitting percentage.

Thornton had 81 digs last week to lead WSU's defensive efforts as the Raiders went 3-1 to win the Holiday Inn Classic. She had 29 digs in a four-set win over Akron. For the year, she ranks fourth in the HL with an average of 4.71 digs per set.

Hackos, a telecommunications major with a 3.31 GPA, lead Youngstown State to a pair of wins over the weekend, scoring a goal in each match. She scored her first career goal giving YSU a 1-0 lead against IPFW on Friday. On Sunday, she added her second goal to tie the match 1-1 against Findlay. YSU would go on to win both games.

Lincicum, a Kinesiology major with a 3.96 GPA, led Milwaukee to a 1-0-1 weekend. Against regionally-ranked Wisconsin, she kept the Badgers at bay making six important saves in front of a home crowd in the 1-1 draw. On Sunday, she shutout Chicago State for 70 minutes as part of a tandem effort in net in the 9-0 victory.

Spiro Pliakos was named to the Radisson Invitational All-Tournament Team after tallying four point over two games for the Titans. To kick off the weekend, Pliakos had one assist in Detroit’s 2-1 win versus Western Illinois. On Sunday, the sophomore assisted on the first goal and scored the game-winning goal in the 2-1 win over St. Bonaventure.

A.J. Fleak earns his second-consecutive defensive player of the week award after posting a shutout against IPFW over the weekend. The senior collected five saves in 90 minutes of action in the 2-0 win for the Norse. The match marked his third shutout of the season thus far as he now ranks third in program-history in shutouts.

Stephanie Sanders led the UIC women’s cross country team for the second-consecutive week with her 10th-place finish at the ISU Invite. The senior crossed the 5K finish line in a time of 18:12.5 against 100 fellow runners.
Hometown: Huntington Woods, Mich.
Ben Kendell placed second at the 29th Annual Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational against 71 fellow competitors from seven programs. The sophomore ran the 4-mile distance in a time of 20:24 to post a personal record in his season debut to lead the Detroit men’s squad. His 20:24 finish is now a new career low by 15 seconds.
