The Green Bay volleyball team took the floor for the final time in the regular season on Saturday afternoon, setting the tone early before cruising to a sweep of Milwaukee (25-21, 25-23, 25-21) on Senior Day at the Klotsche Center.
Oakland Wins Five-Set Thriller over NKU on Senior Day
Cassie Pelloni recorded 19 kills on a .405 hitting percentage, Melissa Deatsch tallied 19 kills and 17 digs and Alli Gutschow collected 25 digs as the Oakland women's volleyball team won a five-set thriller over Northern Kentucky in the regular season finale on Saturday from the Athletics Center O'rena. The Golden Grizzlies celebrated Senior Day as Ciara Schultz, Allia Knight, Mary Grassano, Amanda Baker and Cassie Pelloni were honored before the match in their final home game of the season.
Berrington Sent Out a Winner on Senior Day
The Valparaiso University volleyball team made sure its lone senior, setter Kelsey Berrington (Britton, Mich./Tecumseh), would go out a winner in her final career match at the ARC, as the Crusaders downed league regular season champion Cleveland State Saturday evening, 3-1 (25-20, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18). Valpo heads to the Horizon League Championship in Cleveland next weekend as the third seed, and will face sixth-seeded Milwaukee Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Thompson Sets Digs Records as Volleyball Sweeps UIC
Senior Nikki Thompson set a pair of school digs records in her final career match, and the Youngstown State volleyball team ended the 2015 season on a high note with a sweep at UIC on Saturday. The set scores were 29-27, 25-14, 25-19.
