Horizon League men's basketball team split Saturday games, with Green Bay and Valparaiso collecting wins to even out the day's slate of games.
Green Bay 52, Wyoming 44
Returning to the Resch Center afer two road defeats, Green Bay bounced back to pick up a 52-44 defeat of visiting Wyoming on Saturday night.
Both teams struggled from the field, with Green Bay (2-2) shooting just 31.6 percent; however, the Phoenix held Wyoming to 15-of-47 shooting to stay in the game. Brennan Cougill helped Green Bay hold a 43-35 edge on the glass, picking up a career-best nine boards.
Alec Brown led the way on the offensive side of the ball, finishing with 15 points, adding eight rebounds. Cowgill finished a point and rebound short of a double-double, tallying nine points and nine rebounds.
Valparaiso 79. IU-Kokomo 48
In its second game of the 2k Sports Coaches vs. Cancer Classic subregional, Valparaiso had no trouble with IU-Kokomo, rolling to a 79-48 win at the Athleteics-Recreation Center.
Valparaiso (4-1) was able to use its entire available roster, with nine of 10 players recording a basket. Ryan Broekhoff led four Crusaders in double figures with 13 points. Will Bogan added 12, with Nathan Stegelemann and Matt Kenney chipping in 11 and 10, respectively.
Shooting 40.6 percent, Valpo limited IU-Kokomo to 25 percent shooting on the night, dominating the interior to post 38 points in the paint. The Crusaders jumped out to a 30-8 lead and never looked back in the game.

Butler hung with Louisville for most of the game, but the Cardinals pulled away late to post a 69-53 win over the Bulldogs at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Butler (1-2) led 42-41 with 12 minutes to play, but Kyle Kuric ignited a 16-4 run to help seal the result. Kuric combined with Chris Smith for all 16 points in the run, and the Bulldogs never drew within nine points over the closing six minutes of the game.
Khyle Marshall led the way for Butler, scoring 20 points and chipping in six rebounds. Marshall had 10 points in the first half, combining with Chase Stigall (11 points) to help the Bulldogs enter the half down just 29-28.
Quincy 65, UIC 61
UIC led midway through the second half, but Quincy responded with an 8-0 run, eventually taking a 65-61 decision over the Flames at the UIC Pavilion.
UIC (1-2) trailed by seven, 35-28, at the half, but rallied to knot the game at 43-43 with 11:51 to play. Hayden Humes helped give the Flames the lead at 49-45 with a pair of free throws, but Quincy rallied with an 8-0 run to take the lead for good. UIC would come within a single possession down the stretch, but could not tie the game.
Daniel Barnes led UIC with 17 points, while Gary Talton had 13 and Matt Bush posted eight.
