Coleman & Gordon Double-Doubles Lead CSU To Overtime Victory-- Box Score
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team picked up its second overtime victory of the season Saturday afternoon, after Imani Gordon sank a three-point shot as time was expiring in regulation to send the game to overtime. The Vikings earned an 80-74 overtime victory over Oakland, improving to 14-9 overall this season and 6-4 in Horizon League play.

The Vikings were led by the senior trio of Cori Coleman, Imani Gordon, and Kiersten Green – who combined for 62 of Cleveland State's 80 points. Coleman had a team-high 22 points along with 10 rebounds and four assists, while Gordon tallied 21 points and 10 boards. The double-double was the third of the season for Gordon and the second of the year for Coleman.

Green added 19 points to the Viking offense, while Alexis Eckles also finished with double-digits, ending with 10 points and seven boards in just 18 minutes of action. Read more

Oakland Suffers Overtime Loss at Cleveland State, 80-74-- Box Score
CLEVELAND - Peyton Apsey scored a career-high 24 points and Olivia Nash recorded a double-double as the Oakland women's basketball team (10-14, 4-7 HL) fell in overtime to Cleveland State (14-9, 6-4 HL), 80-74, Saturday afternoon inside the Wolstein Center.

Apsey tallied a career-high 24 points by tying her career-best with five 3-pointers. Nash tallied 15 points and 11 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season, tied for second in the Horizon League. Nola Anderson recorded 12 points, while Elena Popkey added 10.

With the game tied at 63-63 in regulation, the Golden Grizzlies would take a three point lead with six seconds on the clock after Peyton Apsey hit two free throws, followed by Sinclair Russell splitting a pair at the foul line. CSU's Imani Gordon would take the ball the length of the court and bank in an off-balanced 3-pointer with 0.1 second remaining to send the game into overtime. Read more

Big First-Half Run Lifts Penguins to 70-65 Win at Detroit-- Box Score
The Youngstown State women's basketball team went on a 21-2 run early in the first half and held off Detroit down the stretch in a 70-65 win at Calihan Hall on Saturday afternoon.

The Penguins led by as many as 17 in the first half, and they went 12-for-14 from the free-throw line in the second half to keep the Titans from catching them. YSU snapped a 10-game losing streak in the state of Michigan and avenged a 59-58 loss to Detroit in Youngstown when it squandered a 16-point halftime lead.

Heidi Schlegel posted 19 points and a game-high 16 rebounds, and she became Youngstown State's career leader in free throws made. The fifth-year senior from Wapakoneta, Ohio, went 11-of-13 from the free-throw line today, upping her career total to 453. Brandi Brown had the previous record with 443. Indiya Benjamin scored 13 of her 18 points in the second half, and Latisha Walker had 12 points in 12 minutes. Read more

First Half Deficit Too Much For Titans To Overcome On Saturday-- Box Score
DETROIT (2/14/2015) -- Senior Ellisha Crosby netted a team and season-high 25 points and a valiant second-half rally had the Titans thinking another come-from-behind win, but Youngstown State was able to hold off the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team, 70-65, on Saturday afternoon in Calihan Hall.

The game was part of National Girls and Women in Sports Day as the annual event celebrated its 29th season of bringing attention to the success of Title IX and the thousands of opportunities it has provided young girls in the United States. Prior to the game, over 100 girls ages 6-12 took part in a number of activities and sports clinics, where student-athletes from UDM's varsity teams provided skill instruction and hands-on demonstrations.

It was Crosby's third 20-point game of the season as she was 10-of-18 from the field and 5-of-10 from three, while posting nine rebounds and three assists. Freshman Darianne Seward had 14 points, three rebounds and two assists and redshirt sophomore Rosanna Reynolds ended with 10 points, six boards and two steals. Read more

Green Bay Enjoys Valentine's Day with Big Win at Milwaukee-- Box Score
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Mehryn Kraker scored a season-high 24 points and the Green Bay women’s basketball team shot a season-high 59.6 percent, celebrating Valentine’s Day on Saturday with a convincing 79-62 victory over Milwaukee at the Klotsche Center.

Green Bay (20-4, 10-1 HL) recorded its 20th win of the season with the victory, marking the 16th-consecutive season the program has won at least 20 games. The Phoenix tied a season-high in assists with 25 against the Panthers (8-15, 4-7 HL), which also came in Milwaukee against Marquette to open the season.

Kraker tallied her season-high in points thanks to a 4-for-8 shooting performance from 3-point land and a 10-for-14 effort from the field. Tesha Buck and Kaili Lukan also finished in double figures, finishing with 17 and 11 points respectively. Buck continued her recent stretch of crashing the glass, finishing with a team-high eight rebounds. Read more

Green Bay Uses Inside Game To Earn Victory Over Milwaukee-- Box Score
MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay shot almost 60 percent from the floor and scored 52 points in the paint in handing the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team a 79-62 loss Saturday afternoon at the Klotsche Center.

The Panthers (8-15, 4-7 Horizon League) made 11 three-pointers and shot 45 percent themselves, but the Phoenix (20-4, 10-1 Horizon League) stayed in control from start to finish to earn the victory.

"They are a very tough team and that is why they are in first place in our league and why a lot of people struggle to compete with them," Milwaukee head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "We have a young team and if we want to play with the top teams in our league and compete, then we have to get that level of toughness. We can't give up easy offensive rebounds and we have to get more physical when teams are posting us up." Read more

Women Rally for 73-62 Win at UIC-- Box Score
Down five at the half, the Wright State women's basketball team started the second half with a 25-11 run and then held on down the stretch for a 73-62 win at UIC Saturday afternoon.

WSU led 11-7 early thanks to a pair of threes from Courtney Boyd and one by Breanna Stucke and the margin was still four until the Flames used an 8-1 run to go up 20-17.  An Abby Jump three gave the Raiders the lead back at 24-22, only to see UIC close the period with a 11-4 burst to go up 33-28 at the break.

The Flames shot 41 percent from the field in the first half compared to 32 percent for Wright State. Read more

Big Second Half Pushes Wright State Past UIC, 74-63-- Box Score
CHICAGO – The UIC women’s basketball team (14-10, 4-7 HL) led by as many as eight points in the first half but allowed Wright State (19-6, 8-3 HL) to score 46 points after halftime in a 74-63 home defeat Saturday afternoon. The Raiders hit 19 second half free throws and held the Flames to 30 percent shooting after halftime.

The Raiders attempted a UIC opponent season high 34 free throws and made 23. Wright State also committed a UIC opponent season low eight turnovers and forced UIC into a season-high 26 fouls.

UIC grabbed a season-high 56 rebounds, including 24 on the offensive end. The Flames outrebounded WSU, 56-46, and has outrebounded 21 out of their 24 opponents this season. Read more
