Green Bay Stymies Wright State to Grab Control of League-- Box Score
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Holding Wright State to its lowest point total this season, the Green Bay women’s basketball team used solid defense and timely shooting to win 61-45 on Thursday night at the Kress Center, separating itself out in front of the Horizon League standings in the process.

Green Bay (19-4, 9-1 HL) held the league’s leading scorer Tay’ler Mingo to a season-low 10 points, while limiting the Horizon League’s highest scoring team (entered Thursday averaging 79.6 PPG) to under 50 points and its lowest total point tally of the season.

The Phoenix defense, which came in as the top defense in the league after only allowing 52.8 PPG in conference play this season, forced the visiting Raiders (18-6, 7-3 HL) into a 16-for-51 (31.4 percent) shooting effort from the field. Green Bay also enjoyed a plus-15 advantage in rebounding, finishing with 49 rebounds to Wright State’s 34. Read more

Cold-Shooting Panthers Drop 69-56 Decision At Valparaiso-- Box Score
VALPARAISO, Ind. - Senior Ashley Green scored a game-high 24 points but the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team could not overcome a tough night from the field in falling, 69-56, Thursday evening at the Athletics-Recreation Center.

"I thought we started off very slow," Milwaukee head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "I thought our defense looked really good at the start of the game but we just couldn't get our offense going. Any time you are on the road, you need to be able to hit shots in order to be successful and we didn't do that early on."

The Panthers (8-14, 4-6 Horizon League) erased a halftime deficit and were within one point with 16 minutes to play, only to see the Crusaders (6-17, 2-8 Horizon League) use a 13-3 run to take control of the game and regain momentum. Read more
