Offensive Outburst Downs Oakland Against Wright State, 108-89-- Box Score
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Peyton Apsey scored a career-high 23 points and Olivia Nash collected her second-straight 20-point performance as Oakland (9-10, 3-3 HL) fell to Wright State (16-5, 5-2 HL), 108-89, in women's basketball action Thursday night at the Athletics Center O'rena. The 197 combined points is the most in an Oakland women's basketball game since 2004.

Apsey scored her 23 points on a career-best nine field goals including five 3-pointers. Nash tallied 21 points, while Elena Popkey scored 17 points with four triples. Nola Anderson finished with 14 points and has been in double-figures in all but one league game.

Oakland trailed by as many as 22 points before cutting the lead to 13 late in the second half. Popkey hit a 3-pointer with 3:06 remaining for her 15th point of the period but Wright State finished the game on a 9-3 run to improve to 5-2 in league play. Read more

Vikings Earn 67-58 Victory Over Milwaukee-- Box Score
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team got back on the winning track Thursday evening, picking up a 67-58 victory over Milwaukee. With the win the Vikings are now 11-8 overall this season and 3-3 in Horizon League play, while Milwaukee is now 7-12 overall and 3-4 in league action.

Cori Coleman led the Vikings with 19 points, including 15 during the second half, while Imani Gordon tallied 13 points. Brooke Smith and Coleman led CSU with eight rebounds each, while Gordon grabbed seven boards and Alexis Eckles and Kiersten Green each tallied six.

During the opening half, the Vikings battled back from an early deficit, gaining a double-digit lead after a 14-0 run that spanned just over three minutes. CSU was able to hold the double-digit advantage until the final seconds of the first half then, until Milwaukee closed the stanza with seven straight points, putting the score at 33-26 Cleveland State at the halftime break. Milwaukee Rally Comes Up Short In Loss At Cleveland State-- Box Score
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team trimmed a 15-point first-half deficit down to three on numerous occasions in the second half, but could not get any closer in falling to Cleveland State University, 67-58, Thursday night at the Wolstein Center.

"It's one of those hard-fought battles on the road," Milwaukee head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "You have to knock down shots and unfortunately, our shooting tonight was not on. It's something that we can learn from and something that we will take into our next game at Youngstown State."

The Panthers (7-12, 3-4 Horizon League) used a 12-1 run spanning both halves to get back into the game against the Vikings (11-8, 3-3 Horizon League). Milwaukee pulled within three one final time at 48-45 with about seven minutes remaining before running out of gas down the stretch. Read more

Balanced Effort Gives Green Bay 67-52 Win at Valparaiso-- Box Score
VALPARAISO, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Benefitting from another balanced performance, the Green Bay women’s basketball team won its seventh game in a row on Thursday night, defeating Valparaiso 67-52 at the ARC in league play.

Green Bay (16-3, 6-0 HL) remained perfect in conference play with its 15-point victory, thanks to six different players registering eight points or more. Jessica Lindstrom enjoyed the best game of her young career, as the freshman finished with a career-high in points with 13 and rebounds with nine.

Mehryn Kraker and Megan Lukan each finished in double figures with 10 points. Lukan also swiped four steals as Green Bay finished with nine steals as team. Ellen Edison was responsible for three of those thefts, as the senior played a season-high 24 minutes off the bench. Read more

Despite Strong Second Half, Crusaders Fall to Phoenix-- Box Score
The Valparaiso women's basketball team outscored the visiting Green Bay Phoenix 35-29 in the second half, but it wasn't enough as the defending Horizon League regular season champions advanced to 6-0 in league play with a 67-52 victory Thursday night at the Athletics-Recreation Center.

Abby Dean (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) rebounded nicely from a slow start to lead the Brown and Gold with 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting. The junior was 4-of-5 from the free-throw line and added a season-high three steals.

Green Bay's airtight defense caused the Crusaders to stutter out of the gate. The Phoenix coaxed 15 first-half turnovers. The Brown and Gold forced nine of their own, but Green Bay still shot 50% from the field as part of its balanced scoring attack. Senior guard Megan Lukan had eight points in the opening period while Sam Terry and Jessica Lindstrom pitched in seven. Read more
