INDIANAPOLIS -- Green Bay senior Julie Wojta is the Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, for the period from Nov. 21-27, after helping the Phoenix win both of their games at last week’s San Juan Shootout.

Green Bay, ranked 18th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll and first in collegeinsider.com’s mid-major top-25 poll, defeated Illinois and 25th-ranked Georgia Tech in San Juan to improve to 5-0 on the season.

On Thanksgiving Day, Wojta scored a game-high 24 points in Green Bay’s 82-62 win over Illinois. She also led the team with seven rebounds and five assists, while also making four steals.

On Saturday, Wojta posted her second double-double of the season, scoring 14 points and pulling down 14 rebounds in Green Bay’s come-from-behind 67-62 overtime win over Georgia Tech. The Phoenix trailed by five points with :51 seconds left in regulation before rallying to force overtime and then overcame another five point deficit in overtime before scoring the final 10 points of the contest to secure the win.

Wojta averaged 19.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals in the two games at the San Juan Shootout as she was named to the All-Tournament team.

Green Bay looks to stay undefeated this week when it hosts Marquette on Friday and Northern Iowa on Sunday.

Other Top Performers for the Week:
Brandi Brown, Youngstown State (Jr., F) - Brown went over 1,000 career points last week. She averaged 19.3 points and 8.7 rebounds in YSU’s three games. Scored a season-high 25 points against Northern Iowa.
Sami Tucker, Milwaukee (Jr., F) - Tucker averaged 14.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game last week for the Panthers. Had 13 points and 11 rebounds in Milwaukee’s win over Western Illinois.
Patrice King, Loyola (Jr., G) -King tied her career-high with 24 points against Akron.
Tabitha Gerardot, Valparaiso (So., F) - Gerardot was named to the Omni Hotels All-Tournament team after averaging 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in Valpo’s two games in Boulder, Colo.
Shareta Brown, Detroit (Fr., F) - Brown was named to the All-Tournament team at the USTA Thanksgiving Classic after averaging 16.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. She had 16 points and 18 rebounds against Bowling Green earlier in the week at home.
Destinee Blue, Cleveland State (Sr., C) -Blue had a career-high 26 points, while also pulling down nine rebounds in CSU’s loss to Cornell.
