INDIANAPOLIS -- Green Bay senior Megan Lukan (Barrie, Ontario) is the Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week while Milwaukee’s Jenny Lindner (Neillsville, Wis.) is the Freshman of the Week for the week of Jan. 5-11.

Green Bay went 2-0 this past week in the squad’s first two conference games of the season.  The Phoenix kicked-off Horizon League play against last year’s tournament champion, Wright State, and defeated the Raiders 68-59 on the road Wednesday evening. Green Bay produced a balanced offensive attack during the contest with five players reaching double-digit points. Over the weekend, the Phoenix hosted Youngstown State and picked up their second conference win, 66-43. Last year, the Penguins went 2-0 against Green Bay.

Lukan was a steady presence for Green Bay throughout the week, averaging 16.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 6.0 apg, 3.0 spg and 1.0 bpg. On Wednesday versus Wright State, the senior notched a near triple-double after scoring 14 points from floor while adding nine rebounds and seven assists in the victory. During Saturday’s matinee taking on Youngstown State, Lukan was once again impressive in three categories for Green Bay with a game-high 19 points in addition to her 10 rebounds and five assists. Lukan’s double-double performance against the Penguins marked her first of the season.

Milwaukee debuted in League play with a win on the road against Detroit, 84-68.  The Panthers led throughout the entire contest while setting season highs in points scored and shooting 52.5 percent from the floor. On Saturday, Milwaukee took the road to Oakland and fell to the Golden Grizzlies.

Lindner had a solid performance for the Panthers in her first-career conference game, scoring 16 points, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out four assists. In the loss versus Oakland, she contributed five points while collecting six boards with one steal and one block. For the week, the freshman averaged 10.5 ppg and 6.5 rpg.

Milwaukee welcomes Wright State on Wednesday, Jan. 14 for a 6:00 p.m. ET tip while Green Bay hosts the Panthers at the Kress Center on Saturday, Jan. 17 for a 2:00 p.m. ET start. All contests will be streamed on ESPN3.

Top Players of the Week:
Nola Anderson, Oakland (So., G): Scored a career-high 23 points in the Golden Grizzlies’ League opener against Milwaukee. In the scoring effort, netted a career-best five three-pointers for her second-career 20-point performance.
Jaleesa Armstrong, Milwaukee (Jr., G): Led Milwaukee in the win over Detroit with her first career double-double, finishing with 23 points and 10 assists. The junior averaged 17.0 ppg and 6.5 apg during the week for the Panthers.
Ruvanna Campbell, UIC (Jr., F): Notched her tenth double-double against Youngstown State with a game-high 24 points and 13 rebounds. Matched her career-high of 30 points versus Valparaiso in addition to grabbing 19 rebounds to tally the junior’s eleventh double-double.
Imani Gordon, Cleveland State (Sr., F): Became the 26th Viking all-time to record 1,000 points in the win over Bluefield State. Tallied a team-high 19 points in the League opener against Valparaiso.
Tay’ler Mingo, Wright State (Sr., G): Scored 24 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists at home against Green Bay. In the win over Detroit, scored 27 points while adding six boards, six steals and three assists.
Rosanna Reynolds, Detroit (So., G): Scored 18 points against Milwaukee and 17 on the road at Wright State. For the week, totalled seven assists and just two turnovers in the Titans’ first League contests of the season.
Heidi Schlegel, Youngstown State (Sr., F): Scored 14 points in each contest for the Penguins against UIC and Green Bay. In the match versus the Flames, added seven rebounds and two assists.

Top Freshmen of the Week:
Nikki Arbanas, Youngstown State (G): Averaged 9.5 ppg while shooting 50 percent from the field in two League contests for the Penguins. Went 5-of-7 from the field, including 3-of-4 from three-point range in the win over UIC and added four rebounds and two assists in the loss at Green Bay.
Darianne Seward, Detroit (G): Distributed a season-high five assists in the game against Wright State while adding 10 points at home against Milwaukee.
Lexi Smith, Wright State (F): Tabbed four rebounds against Green Bay and added three points and five rebounds in the win over Detroit.
Jasmyn Walker, Valparaiso (F): Scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds at Cleveland State to mark her first-career double-double. A few days later, scored 19 points and notched five boards versus UIC.
